The first NEOS Youth Encounter Seminar was held at the residence of Pete & Vangie Murao in Valley View Executive Village, Cainta, Rizal on November 22-23, 2003, with 11 teenagers participating. The first class was composed of the children of Kairos encountered couples. The very eager and active participants spent quality time with each other playing games, reflecting, listening to God's Word and to one another, and praying together.
The program was later adopted by the Parish Youth Ministry of Saint Raphael Archangel Parish at Rodriguez, Rizal which conducted it during its Youth Camp on December 12-13, 2003 in Sitio Inigan, Barangay Wawa of the same town. Under the enthusiastic guardianship of their parish priest, Rev. Fr. Teofilo Lopez, Jr., MJ (Father Teo) more than thirty teenagers spent quality time with the Lord along the banks of Wawa river, playing, praying, singing and reflecting. Fr. Teo is also one of the Spiritual Directors of Kairos Family and Life Apostolic Foundation, Inc. The third NEOS YES was conducted for 21 teenagers belonging to the Ati tribe in Montalban. It was held at Barangay San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal on April 10-11, 2004. The high point of the encounter was the Easter Eve Vigil Mass held along the banks of Wawa river at 8-11 PM of Black Saturday. The Ati youth, their elders and the Kairos couples jointly renewed their Baptismal Vows and shared an uncommon experience of "unity in sonship" with Jesus the risen savior. One of the highlights in the history of the NEOS YES, was the experience of 11 junior seminarians of the PACEM Religious Community who went through the seminar on June 10-11, 2004 at the Holy Family Retreat House, Cabrera Road, Taytay, Rizal, with the approval of their formator, Fr. Hazel Acedilla. For the 11 seminarians, the NEOS YES reinforced their calling for the vocation of priesthood with the “simple, but fast paced interactive activities and full of surprises” NEOS program as they continue to praise and glorify the Lord for the new gift brought by the NEOS. They hope to be a part of the active facilitating team of the NEOS YES which is intended to be conducted to the young people in public high schools and depressed and poor communities. When Fr. Teo Lopez, Jr. MJ was invited to be the retreat master of the retreat for the graduating students of Sta Isabel College, Manila, he asked Kairos to join him and conduct the NEOS YES to 32 graduating college students. This happened on September 2004 in Tagaytay City. The Negros State College of Agriculture in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental also invited Kairos to conduct the NEOS YES for their SPIRITUAL RENEWAL SEMINAR FOR STUDENT LEADERS. Thus, On December 18-19, 2004, 69 students leaders experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit by saying YES to Jesus. The Parish Youth Ministry of St. Raphael Parish in Montalban Rizal organized another youth camp for new participants. 65 young people experienced the love of God through the NEOS YES on December 29-30, 2004. On December 26-27, 2005, another batch of PACEM seminarians together with young people from Montalban and Novaliches joined the NEOS YES in the Holy Family Retreat House in Taytay, Rizal. God continues to call His young people to be re-evangelized, renewed and be evangelizers themselves.
