Thirty three (33) college scholars of the Damayan Community Center in Maysilo, Malabon City went to the Holy Family Retreat House in Cabrera Road, Taytay, Rizal from May 2 to 4, 2008 to experience the NEOS Youth Encounter Seminar.

Sr. Mary Susan F. Montano, RGS who is the Directress of the Damayan Community Center expressed her approval on the conduct and content of the NEOS Youth Encounter. She joined and observed the seminar together with the 3 social workers.

The scholars are from the depressed areas in Malabon and are currently taking their college studies in the different colleges and universities in Metro Manila.

It was a weekend of fun and revelations while the young people played the interactive games as part of the youth encounter, as they reflected on their own lives during their moments of personal reflection, and shared their moments of joy and their own experience with the Lord. Being previously trained in cultural presentations, they experienced a different form of reciting the Rosary through their group presentations as they reflect on the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary.

The scholars are looking forward to another series of seminars to further strengthen their faith and be closer to God in their own journey to the Kingdom of God.
